Bright & Shine Rejuvenation Therapy

The Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy is a non-ablative, new revolution in skin rejuvenation and anti-ageing. It utilizes   Q-switch Nd:YAG laser, to stimulate the skin’s natural ability to rejuvenate itself by selectively inducing micro-injury in prematurely aged or damaged portions of the dermis and epidermis. The laser creates a 3 dimensional matrix of micro-injury concentrate at specific depths of the existing skin. As the injuries are very tiny and surrounding tissue remains unaffected. The  treatment stimulates blood circulation to the skin and growth of young, new layer of skin to replace the aged one, allowing you have significant improvement in skin health and return your skin’s natural glow with minimal discomfort and downtime associated with some other laser procedures. The results : a bright, improved, toned and radiant skin. And the improvement continues for months!

This is a safe and non-invasive procedure which is often referred to as a “lunch hour laser face lift.” This is now the new benchmark in non-ablative laser skin treatments.

How will my skin look after Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy :- Fotona  laser treatment?

Initially you may notice a slight redness, however this settles very quickly and most people can return to normal activities straight away. The treatment creates a thermal response but there is no breaking of the skin and therefore there is no downtime associated with treatment. Often, clients may choose to have treatment during their lunch breaks. After the treatment, our therapists ensure that that corrective mineral make-up is applied so that no one at the office will even notice!

As the healing process takes place, the improvement in your skin is gradual and continuous, showing noticeable improvement over time.

How many treatments will I require?

How many treatments required really depend on the existing condition of skin and how much improvement is desired. This, of course differs from people to people. Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy can be performed as a one-off treatment for a quick pick-me-up or it can be performed in a course for targeted results. Often Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy is combined with other laser modalities (fractional, dual yellow laser, acne) to treat a wider range of conditions.

Do I need to do anything to my skin before the therapy?

With any skin rejuvenation you will be required to prepare your skin at home. This is to ensure that you achieve the best results with the laser penetrating evenly and without complications. You wouldn’t run a marathon without training first and the same applies to your skin. The preparation is simple :- No excessive sun exposure for at least two weeks before the laser treatment is required.

Correct preparation allows us to predict how your skin will respond to treatment, decreasing risks and complications.

What is the first step and how do I know what treatment is correct for me?

The first step with this therapy is for one of our clinicians to assess your skin’s suitability for the treatment. Not all skin conditions and skin types are suitable or there may be other treatment that is more suited to your concerns. At Anna Hoo Clinic, all of our clients who want any form of skin rejuvenation will receive a thorough consultation where concerns, expectations and the risks and benefits are discussed. Treatment is individualized and every effort is put in to accurately determine what treatment is right for YOU.

Will the therapy hurt?

No, with Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy, you will feel a sensation of heat accumulation in the skin. Some areas may be more sensitive than others as the skin may be more sensitive or the treatment is more intense in that area. Clients often find the forehead to be slightly more sensitive as it is a bonier area. You will have no pain or discomfort post treatment.

Do I need to do anything special post treatment?

You will be advised on a topical home-care regime. It is extremely important to care for your skin post treatment as it may be more sensitive initially after Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy. You will be provided with a post-care information and it is important to follow these instructions to ensure that the skin is well cared for and protected at all times. General guidelines initially are to avoid any direct sun exposure, to apply only prescribed topical home care, to avoid exercise for 24 hours and to ensure the skin remains clean and protected at all times.

How much does Bright and Shine laser rejuvenation cost?

Standard Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy ranges from *RM 700 to RM 920 which includes post treatment care regime. Clients who opt for multiple treatments or combined therapy will be given discounts.

Why would you choose to do Bright and Shine Laser Rejuvenation over other treatments?

Bright and Shines laser rejuvenation is a great treatment for clients who want results with no downtime. This is a lighter treatment option and therefore is suitable for younger clients with mild to moderate skin damage but less appropriate for those requiring intensified treatments.

Often Bright and Shine Rejuvenation Therapy is used in combination with other treatment to achieve better results in those requiring more intensified treatment.

Again, it really is about treating the individual, so what’s right for your mum, best friend or sister might not be right for you. Our philosophy is to treat the individual – your skin rejuvenation treatment plan will be unique to you and we are able to combine many different modalities into each treatment session to maximise your results.

Choosing the right sunscreen for your skin

How does sun’s ray actually damage our skin?

Sun produces 3 types of ultraviolet (UV) rays:

·         UVA (320 – 400nm wave length)
·         UVB (290 – 320nm wave length)
·         UVC (200 – 290nm wave length)

UVA
Penetrates deeper into the skin
Major contributor to skin damage, which leads to aging

UVB
Penetrates outer layer of the skin
Major contributor to sunburn

UVC
Almost completely absorbed by ozone layer
Does not affect the skin

What does SPF means?

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor and refers to the theoretical amount of time you can stay in the sun without getting sunburned. For example, an SPF of 30 would allow you to stay in the sun 30 times longer than you could without sunscreen protection.

SPF
Product category
2 – 15
Minimal sun protection product
15 – 30
Moderate sun protection product
>30
High sun protection product
30 - 100
Limited gain. No extra sun protection.

What are the differences between physical sunscreen and chemical sunscreen?
Basically sunscreen that provides board spectrum UVA protection can be divided into 2 types: physical sunscreen and chemical sunscreen.

Physical sunscreen
Chemical sunscreen
Protect the skin by deflecting the sun’s rays.
Protect the skin by absorbing the sun’s rays & transform it to harmless long wave radiation.
Physical agents:
Zinc oxide paste
Micronized zinc oxide
Titanium dioxide
Absorber agents:
Avobenzone(Parsol 1789)
Amino benzoic acid
Ecamsule(Mexoryl)
Thick & opaque.
Colourless & odourless.
Should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure.
Should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure.
Comedogenicity: Titanium dioxide can be problematic for some people.
Comedogenicity: More irritation, some cause contact dermatitis.
Best to avoid those sunscreen that has PABA 5% as their ingredient.

A broad spectrum UVB sunscreen must have below mentioned ingredients:
-Salicylates (Octisalate, Homosalate)
-Cinnamates (Octyl methoxycinnamate)

FDA proposed a regulation on sunscreens on Dec 17, 2012, which stated that:

- Manufacturers cannot identify their products as “sunblocks”.

- Manufacturers cannot make claims that sunscreens are “waterproof” or “sweatproof”.

- Manufacturers cannot claim protection immediately on application (for example, “instant protection”) or protection for more than two hours.

- Sunscreen products that are not broad spectrum or that are broad spectrum with SPF values from 2 to 14 will be labeled with a warning that reads: “Skin Cancer/Skin Aging Alert:  Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. This product has been shown only to help prevent sunburn, not skin cancer or early skin aging.”

- Water resistance claims on the product's front label must state how much time a user can expect to get the declared SPF level of protection while swimming or sweating, based on standard testing. Only two time durations will be permitted on labels: 40 minutes or 80 minutes.
