Hyaluronic Acid is one of the most popular and most frequently used fillers in the market. How much do you know about hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance,
which is found in our skin and connective tissues. Medically, it has been used
to replaced gel within the joints and also widely in aesthetic medicine.
You see, our body has hyaluronic acids. Its
production and degradation should occur at the same speed. However, as one
ages, the speed of production cannot catch up with its degradation and hence,
we lose hyaluronic acids as we ages. Without the hyaluronic acids to hold the
supporting tissues of the skin, the skin appears saggy, dry and wrinkle will
start to form. At age 30, we will start
to lose hyaluronic acid in our body. By 60 years old, there is only 25% of the
hyaluronic acid remaining in our body.
