Tyndall effect

http://www.fotona.com/de/products/?id=677
Nurse reveals the top 5 regrets people make on their deathbed
Good article to share.

REGRETS OF THE DYING
For many years I worked in palliative care. My patients were those who had gone home to die. Some incredibly special times were shared. I was with them for the last three to twelve weeks of their lives.
People grow a lot when they are faced with their own mortality. I learnt never to underestimate someone's capacity for growth. Some changes were phenomenal. Each experienced a variety of emotions, as expected, denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed though, every one of them.
When questioned about any regrets they had or anything they would do differently, common themes surfaced again and again. Here are the most common five:
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
This was the most common regret of all. When people realise that their life is almost over and look back clearly on it, it is easy to see how many dreams have gone unfulfilled. Most people had not honoured even a half of their dreams and had to die knowing that it was due to choices they had made, or not made.
It is very important to try and honour at least some of your dreams along the way. From the moment that you lose your health, it is too late. Health brings a freedom very few realise, until they no longer have it.
2. I wish I didn't work so hard.
This came from every male patient that I nursed. They missed their children's youth and their partner's companionship. Women also spoke of this regret. But as most were from an older generation, many of the female patients had not been breadwinners. All of the men I nursed deeply regretted spending so much of their lives on the treadmill of a work existence.
By simplifying your lifestyle and making conscious choices along the way, it is possible to not need the income that you think you do. And by creating more space in your life, you become happier and more open to new opportunities, ones more suited to your new lifestyle.
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings.
Many people suppressed their feelings in order to keep peace with others. As a result, they settled for a mediocre existence and never became who they were truly capable of becoming. Many developed illnesses relating to the bitterness and resentment they carried as a result.
We cannot control the reactions of others. However, although people may initially react when you change the way you are by speaking honestly, in the end it raises the relationship to a whole new and healthier level. Either that or it releases the unhealthy relationship from your life. Either way, you win.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
Often they would not truly realise the full benefits of old friends until their dying weeks and it was not always possible to track them down. Many had become so caught up in their own lives that they had let golden friendships slip by over the years. There were many deep regrets about not giving friendships the time and effort that they deserved. Everyone misses their friends when they are dying.
It is common for anyone in a busy lifestyle to let friendships slip. But when you are faced with your approaching death, the physical details of life fall away. People do want to get their financial affairs in order if possible. But it is not money or status that holds the true importance for them. They want to get things in order more for the benefit of those they love. Usually though, they are too ill and weary to ever manage this task. It is all comes down to love and relationships in the end. That is all that remains in the final weeks, love and relationships.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.
This is a surprisingly common one. Many did not realise until the end that happiness is a choice. They had stayed stuck in old patterns and habits. The so-called 'comfort' of familiarity overflowed into their emotions, as well as their physical lives. Fear of change had them pretending to others, and to their selves, that they were content. When deep within, they longed to laugh properly and have silliness in their life again.
When you are on your deathbed, what others think of you is a long way from your mind. How wonderful to be able to let go and smile again, long before you are dying.
Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly. Choose happiness.

Aesthetic medicine (Scope of Practice)
Aesthetic medicine is branch of medicine, distinct from plastic surgery, focused on satisfying the aesthetic desires and goals of patients. Aesthetic medicine comprises all medical procedures in the field of Aesthetics excluding all surgical procedures which require an operating table and general anesthesia (such as breast implants, liposuction, surgery of obesity, facelifts, rhinoplasty, etc.).[1]
This specialty is primarily focused on the pathophysiology of aging skin, and adheres to scientific based procedures. Physicians practicing Aesthetic Medicine are trained in both invasive and non-invasive treatment modalities, and typically utilize a combination to meet the needs of the patient.[2]
Indications:
It can intervene
- in the treatment of the wrinkles and the scars
- in the ageing of the face, the hands, the low neckline and the glance
- in the treatment of the pigmentary spots, of the disgracious blood-vessels
- in the prevention of body ageing
- in laser tattoo removal
The fields of competence are mesotherapy, the general medicine, biology, the dermatology, the endocrinology, gynecology, psychology.[3]
Most current non-surgical aesthetic procedures:
- Injections Botulinum toxin
- Injections of Hyaluronic Acid and other fillers.
- Chemical Peels
- Medical Cosmetology
- Aesthetic Mesotherapy
- Shapes and Cellulite Control
- Nutrition
- Hair transplantation
- Hair removal
- Skin Laser Therapy
- Aesthetic Venous Treatment
- Aptos/Contour Threads
- Curl Lifting
- Non-surgical liposuction
- Lipotomy
- Carboxytherapy
The real benefit of practicing Aesthetic Medicine is the type of care that physicians are offering to their patients. These procedures are elective and are performed on patients who do not suffer from illness. They are usually happy and in excellent health. They simply want a quick fix or a preventative procedure to help manage the normal effects of aging.
When performed by a trained physician, non-surgical procedures are safer than plastic surgery as they do not require general anesthesia. They are usually quicker (can be done during lunch breaks) and are preferred by patients as they do not involve a scalpel and an operating table.

Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal eg...
Clinical, Cosmetic And Investigational Dermatology: Efficacy and safety of a hyaluronic acid filler in subjects treated for correction of midface deficiency: a 24 month study

Dr Anna (左三) Restylane Workshop at Le Meridien Hotel Sept 2013 |

FDA approves Botox Cosmetic to improve the appearance of crow’s feet lines
FDA NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: Sept. 11, 2013
Media Inquiries: Andrea Fischer, 301-796-0393, andrea.fischer@fda.hhs.gov
Consumer Inquiries: 888-INFO-FDA
FDA approves Botox Cosmetic to improve the appearance of crow’s feet lines
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved a new use for Botox Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe lateral canthal lines, known as crow’s feet, in adults. Botox Cosmetic is the only FDA approved drug treatment option for lateral canthal lines.
The FDA approved Botox Cosmetic in 2002 for the temporary improvement of glabellar lines (wrinkles between the eyebrows, known as frown lines), in adults. Botox Cosmetic works by keeping muscles from tightening so wrinkles are less prominent.
“This additional indication will provide people with a new FDA approved treatment option for those seeking a smoother appearance by temporarily minimizing the appearance of crow’s feet at the sides of the eyes,” said Susan Walker, M.D., director of the Division of Dermatology and Dental Products in the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research.
Botox Cosmetic is administered via intramuscular injections. Treatment for both frown lines and crow’s feet can be given at the same time.
Botox Cosmetic’s safety and effectiveness for treating lateral canthal lines were established in two clinical efficacy and safety studies. The studies enrolled 833 adult participants with moderate to severe lateral canthal lines who were randomly assigned to receive Botox or placebo. Results showed that those treated with Botox had greater improvement compared to placebo in the appearance of lateral canthal lines.
The most common adverse reaction associated with the use of Botox Cosmetic for treatment of lateral canthal lines is eyelid edema, a condition in which the eyelids are swollen and contain excessive fluid.
OnabotulinumtoxinA is marketed as Botox and Botox Cosmetic. The FDA approved Botox for the treatment of chronic migraine, severe underarm sweating, blepharospasm (eyelid spasm) and strabismus (misalignment of the eyes when one or both eyes turn inward or outward). Botox and Botox Cosmetic have a boxed warning that says the effects of the botulinum toxin may spread from the area of injection to other areas of the body, causing symptoms similar to those of botulism. Those symptoms include swallowing and breathing difficulties that can be life-threatening. There has not been a confirmed serious case of toxin spread when Botox or Botox Cosmetic has been used at the recommended dose for the approved indications.
Consumers and health care professionals are encouraged to report adverse reactions from the use of Botox Cosmetic to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program at www.fda.gov/MedWatch or by calling 800-FDA-1088.
Botox Cosmetic is manufactured by Allergan Inc. based in Irvine, Calif.

Anaphylatic shock,
Vit C

The 8 Point Lift
The 8 Point approach was pioneered by Dr Mauricio de Maio and is a revolutionary new approach to achieving a non-surgical face lift.
The 8 points
1,2. Cheek structure Over time, we start to lose this youthful volume and definition in the cheeks.
3. Tear troughs As we age, volume loss in this area can create a hollow depression, giving us a tired appearance.
4. Nasolabial folds - the lines that run from the corner of our nose to our mouth gradually deepen as the soft tissue volume in our face decreases.
5. Mouth frown A mouth frown is where the corners of our lips begin to turn down. With time, these become more pronounced.
6. Pre-jowl area Jowls slowly appear when soft tissue volume moves down the face, giving the face a heavy look.
7. Jawline In our youth, the jawline is a smooth line extending from our jaw to our chin. As we age our jawline loses definition.
8. Cheek volume Over time, volume loss in the mid section of the face can make our cheeks look hollow.
Facial contours will be improved and facial volume subtly enhanced.
A little redness may be experienced for a brief period following the treatment and bruising is possible.
Result will last up to 24 months depend on type of the filler use.
Aiming for NATURAL, REFRESHING LOOK, for a better you.

http://abcnews.go.com/ABC_Univision/joker-lips-surgery-south-korea-creates-perma-smile/story?id=20023365

另外一个比较新颖的疗程是INTRAcel(Micro Needling Radio Frequency) 微针电波换肤,效果很好,不过也是建议进行至少3次的疗程以达到好效果。

Star News: Ugly truth awaits beauticians
The star news: 30062013
KUALA LUMPUR: Beauty centre operators and non-doctors found to be practising aesthetic medicine could be fined up to RM50,000 or jailed for up to two years once the amendments to the Medical (Amendment) Act 2012 and its regulations come into operation before year-end.
Health Ministry officials said Section 33 of the Medical (Amendment) Act 2012 stated that first-time offenders could be fined not more than RM50,000 and jailed not more than two years while the fine could increase to not more than RM100,000 and jail term to not more than three years for second-time offenders.
Deputy health director-general Datuk Dr S. Jeyaindran said the ministry was in its final stages of drafting the regulations following the amendments passed in Parliament in June last year.
“Beauticians can be hauled up by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) if they portray themselves as doctors or they carry out procedures that only doctors can do under the guidelines on aesthetic medical practice,” he said during a press conference at the 2nd Malaysia-Singapore Conference of Aesthetic Medicine yesterday.
Dr Jeyaindran was asked if the ministry was taking any action to address loopholes in the law that did not penalise beauty centre owners who conducted invasive cosmetic procedures.
The Star recently reported that consumer bodies urged that they and untrained doctors be criminalised for carrying out the procedures.
Recently, guidelines on aesthetic medical practice was introduced and doctors who carried out the procedures and did not have the credentials to do so would be hauled up by the MMC for breach of professional code of practice.
Dr Jeyaindran said the first batch of 22 doctors had been registered with the National Registry of Registered Medical Practitioners Practising Aesthetic Medicine.
